... "JoeSpareBedroom" wrote in message ... At least yours dusted the house. When my car was vandalized right in my driveway, I showed the cop a part of the radio mounting kit which could only be removed by grabbing it in a way that guaranteed good contact for fingerprints. He said "Wouldn't be much point in checking for prints unless the thief had a prior arrest". And.....? That's something like what the young cop said to me. he said since my van had a textured steering wheel it wouldn't likely yield worthwhile prints. Guess we're too hooked on NCIS, CIS Miami etc. Cop said he could get the Ident Unit up, but I remembered a newspaper story of them taking 3 or 4 days to show up for a house break-in. We have a little drug gang style war going on.. with shootings, arson, the odd killing etc. Ah....your draconian gun control measures have been a big help. :-) |

Ah....your draconian gun control measures have been a big help. :-) It keeps honest sensible citizens like me from owning a hand gun.. or even having quick access to my shotgun or 22 cal rifle. Doesn't seem to affect the criminal element at all.... not when guns are so readily available just south of the border. |

I would be willing to bet you that guns are just as readily available in Canadanandanada as in the US. |

Rifles & shotguns have to be stored under lock & key and the ammo must be securly stored in a different area. Handguns..... don't bother asking. |

If the house is broken into, I'd prefer that the guns not end up in the hands of criminals. Same reason I never leave a gun in the car. How "different" does the ammo storage place need to be? Different room? Different hiding place in the same room? Handguns..... don't bother asking. I heard all legal handguns were launched into space on a Canadian weather satellite, but that you can get yours any time you need it, although there might be a waiting period. |

I think that's a critical consideration any time you point a weapon at another person. "Is whatever he or she is doing, or whatever I think he or she might do, sufficient grounds for killing them?" If you can't answer "yes", be glad your gun is locked in the closet. |

Unless you're willing to kill the kid for stealing your car stereo,
you might be better off not shooting at him at all. But if you do, drag his sorry ass back into the house and lay him up with a weapon in hand. |
