Now, in an attempt to bring this back on topic, I have a question for
the group. A friend insists that I wash and wax my boat while before I
re-launch it for the season. How necessary is that? Will it rot if I
don't?

No.

But it will look better.

I guess it all boils down to how one prefers to maintain their possessions.

Actually, in here it's even simpler than that. It's just boils down to
asking a simple question and getting a simple answer, as Tim gave without
assuming facts not given.

Thanks.

Thanks. That's what I wanted to know.
