Default A day of boating.

Nice day on the water. 70's, no wind, 58 degree water. Couple of water
skiers, only wearing spring suits. caught small size bass. Mostly a test
run on the boat after fixing the bugs found last week from the floor redo
and new fuel tank. Ran out of gas a short distance from the ramp, came in
on kicker. 1/4 tank on the guage, so may be bad sender adjustment, or one
of the pickups does not go to the bottom of the tank. Must suck to have
frozen water.

High 60's - low 70's projected here today. Time change now, so an
hr's worth of extra day light. I think I'll drag the cuddie out into
the sun when I get home from work, to do some better evaluation on
cleaning it and repairing some nicki-knacks.

Holland Cut Marina. Went over to Discovery bay, and admired the nice homes
and boats and tried to catch a bass there, unsuccessfully, then ran over to
Mildred Island. Checked the tank today, lots of gas, so something is loco
about the motor. Still under warrantee, may be the high pressure FI pump,
htey have been known to go bad.

I have a freind that lives there... that was until he moved there. Once his
**** was too good for me, we were no longer friends. Last I knew, he had a
POS Malibu Skier, that he paid way too much for. Nice house though. It takes
him about 30 minutes to get out of no-wake Discovery Bay. no such thing as
just heading out for a "cool off" spin when it takes that long. I'll just
launch...

Bummer about running out of gas, when you didn't run out of gas... My two
biggest worrie a no gas, and no battery. I have the back-up battery now,
and will maybe start towing a fuel barge. :-)

Takin' the Waverunner in tonight to the best Yamaha pwc performance
shop on Long Island, the guy who built mine up with the hop-up kit
when I bought it a couple seasons back, for general spring prep and a
couple minor adjustments, will probably pick it back up not this
coming weekend but the next (he's about a 45-minute drive away so I
have to wait 'til I can again get clearance from the wife to be gone
for that long!.....of course during boating season, her veto power is
diminished), then targeting either/both Sun. April 1st and/or Sun. 4/8
for the first ride/rides of the season. My usual riding buddy just
had some kind of surgery and will be a few weeks late starting his
season so my first ride or two may be solo. This winter was nothin',
I was able to go riding in November, December and even, for the first
time ever, in January, when it hit 70+ on a sunny Saturday strangely
enough.....so it'll have been less than a 3-month
break in between "seasons," pretty bearable.

Pulled the feed line and lots of gas, probably a 1/3 of a tank. So may be
the high pressure fuel pump or a loose connection. Was running along about
3800 rpm when engine just turned off. Started back up right away and few
minutes later shut off again. came back the last 1.3 miles on the kicker.
Taking it over to San Leandro Marina tomorrow to see what is wrong.
