Those numbers are way low, these are gas engines not diesel. My 6.2L
MPI burns 15 gph at full cruise (3400 RPM).

17 to 20 gph each at full cruising speed, 30+ at WOT.

Lon is cross posting from an RV newsgroup. He is somewhat knowledgeable
about RVs, but obviously less so about boats.

Speaking of RV's, do you need a special license to drive one of those
bus like contraptions?

Nope. Maybe at some weight or length there's a requirement, but not that I
am aware of.

The news ticker tape just said that Bay Area (San Francisco) gas prices
are expected to increase by 40 cents per gallon over the next two weeks!
What's the explanation for that? Anyone know some facts?

Nope.

Except for boating we rarely have to *pay* for gasoline.

My car is a company car so I don't have to pay for gasoline.

We get points every time we use our BP Visa and use them to purchase gift
cards for use at BP stations. We normally reach $50 in reward $'s every 2
months. We gave a $25 card to my son yesterday and are mailing another $25
card to my daughter.

Our grocery store (Giant Eagle) has a "fuel perks" program
(http://tinyurl.com/yukz5u ) with $0.10 earned for every $50 spent and
redeemable at their gasoline pumps. We redeem the $ once it reaches the
pump price and bring along a couple of 5-6 gallon cans to use up the entire
30 gallon limit. .

Life is good. ;-)

Gasoline futures have gone up about that in the past month - from ~$1.35 to
~$1.75. Local price are up about 23¢ the last 2 weeks.

If you had 500 cid ETECs they'd burn about the same, maybe more.

I just paid $2.89/gallon on the water last weekend. 183 gallons. Glad I
filled up.

That's a great idea for a Visa reward....gas. Trouble is...BP's are
hard to find around my parts. Do you know if other companies, like
Chevron, does the same thing?
