"Boating Novice" wrote in message groups.com... I just purchased a 1985 19' w/ a cuddy cabin. I would like to pay someone who knows what they are doing to install new marine carpet that matches the carpet in the cuddy. Before I start looking for quotes I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me how much is reasonable and likely vs. what is a rip off. Also I need to replace the canvas on the sunbrella type system: bimini, sidewalls, and aft cover. The bars that hold the canvas are in perfect shape. I just need the canvas. I would really appreciate any recommendations. If you lived in Denver Colorado, I could give a name. Don, I'll wager two boxes of frozen squid that Señor Gould doesn't have any business recommendations for the OP, even though this is right in his neighborhood, *and* it's boat-related. :-) You've done it now! he'll dig out every business card in his shoebox and every marine related directory he has just to prove you wrong. He is getting better though... he delivered my last lecture in 500 words or less. - Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text -- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - I am open to recommendations. I had someone quote 1700 for the carpet - I'll get the exacto knife out myself for this, but hoping to find a pro at a reasonable price. Other than binding the edges, installing the carpet is easy. You can either buy a roll of paper used for making patterns for vinyl floors or just cut it in place. Then glue the carpet in or get the edges bound and install snaps to hold in in place. http://www.bassboatcarpets.com/ has pattern kits for lots of boats. |
