Results are in from the 2007 Westminister Dog Show.
Good news...'Best in Show' went to a beautiful English Springer Spaniel.
This is no pouffy little poodle..... 'Diamond Jim' also has a day job
helping with therapy for alzheimers patients.
This dog has very similar markings and colour to my dog.
Now I'm ****ed at the wife... my Bronson 'coulda been a contender'..!

What a crock.

Look at who judged Best in Show.

It was preordained.

There is no other sport that is more subjective than Dog Shows, and open
to personal favorites and/or outright fraud. Not only is it extremely
subject, but you have one judge who determines the winner. In other
very subjective sports, such as Ice Skating and Gymnastics, you always
have a large number of judges scoring the contestants. I doubt this
will change, because that seems to be the way the dog owners prefer, or
they would push for a change.

I think your comment about "it was preordained", was a reference to the
fact that the judge had owned and shown cocker spaniels as a youngster.

Spaniels are over rated.

Real dogs like Border Collies and Blue Heelers are real dogs.

Treein' Walkers.

Of course, it's hard to go wrong with a good black and tan, too.

A few nights in the woods with a half dozen of these chasing 'coons will
convince you.

JohnH,

I am sure if you want a dog to chase coons and enjoy spending nights in
the woods with them, that is a great dog. But for a great family dog
who loves to go boating, swimming, walking/running through the woods,
and just herding up the neighborhood kids, nothing beats an:

Australian Sheepdog
http://www.nextdaypets.com/directory...479/10408.aspx

a Border Collie
http://darwin.nmsu.edu/~molbio/dog/images/02632.jpg

or a Shetland Sheepdog.

Smartest, most attentive dogs you can adopt.

Well sure, but none of them are worth a crap at 'coon huntin'!

Besides, I've already got one of those 'great family dogs'.
