But for a great family dog who loves to go boating, swimming, walking/running through the woods, and just herding up the neighborhood kids, nothing beats an: Australian Sheepdog http://www.nextdaypets.com/directory...479/10408.aspx a Border Collie http://darwin.nmsu.edu/~molbio/dog/images/02632.jpg or a Shetland Sheepdog. http://www.dog.com/breed/docgrafx/shetshee.jpg http://www.pasoddy.com/photo/shetland/shetland.jpg Smartest, most attentive dogs you can adopt. Besides, I've already got one of those 'great family dogs'. http://tinyurl.com/28kbs3 from a breader: Beardies are known as the "Clowns of the dog world" and there is good reason. from the Beardies FAQ: A Beardie is a winsome, funny, loving, sometimes silly, sometimes pouty, adorable, curious, persistent creature, in short, close to human. As puppies, they're much like two-year-old children. They try out their independence, test their "parents," and are so cute they're difficult to correct. This is the time good parents must force down the chuckle, give firm, but gentle discipline and then go in the other room to laugh til they cry. |

Yes, I may have made a disparaging comment about this dog's intelligence, but ... it was true. -- *****Have a Spectacular Day!***** John H |

When my mom died, two months after moving from Seattle to live with me, I inherited the dog. I think it never got past the 'two-year-old child' stage. The above is a good description of the dog's attitude! -- *****Have a Spectacular Day!***** John H |
