I would like to get a little more torque out of a pair of 454's A 454 is a 454 so I suppose a heftier automotive race cam would provide you more torgue, but you have to account for changes in timing, fuel delivery and such to really make it work properly. It might not be all that advantageous in terms of time and money. I would think a prop change would be of more benefit for those engines than a cam change. Why do you need the extra power? Come to think of it, you'd also need to change props anyway - I'd try the props first. |

The auto hi performance sources have marine products as well. Try
summit and jegs. If what you want is really more torque at low rpm's you may have to be satisfied with what you have. Most factory cans do pretty well in that regard. Aftermarket cams tend to develop more power at higher rpm's. In any case to get the most bang you probably need cam, carb, and exhaust. Once you start down that path at some point you'll start wanting a pair of 502's :-) On Feb 12, 11:56 am, Short Wave Sportfishing wrote: Short Wave Sportfishing wrote: wrote: anyone got any advice on getting a after market marine cam?
