He let me drive it a couple of times during practice sessions on airport SCCA circuits in Oklahoma and Arkansas. It was a real sports car, uncluttered by the overdone-ness of today's corvettes and mustangs. It was also a bitch to get around short, tight courses. There were ill handling dragsters. I could go around a corner side by side with most 289 Cid Cobras but when we hit the straightaway was like a fueler dragster compared to my Vette. We gave away about 1200# weight. Was a 1950 suspension design AC Bristol with a bigger motor. |
