I'm not really sure of your situation, but you might consult these
folk: http://www.b-quiet.com/?googleads I know there's an insulating material which is a fiber one one side and a metalic sheathing on the other, which is used in many automotive aplications for soundproffing, insulation, and the metal , I believe is used as a flame retardent. I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to come up with something esasy and inexpensive you can use, though. gooch wrote: Have an I/o engine cover I would like to install some sound dampening liner to.....anyone have any suggestions. -- Posted at author's request, using http://www.BoatingForumz.com interface Articles individually verified to usenet standards. Correct. I've seen some of the stuff which I think would be ideal and
it's the material used on some GM cars under the hood to reduce noise. Its fiber on the bood side, and a metallic flame retardant material on the engine side. One could probably get all they could stand at a local bone yard for almost nothing. James wrote: West marine has various stick on sound proofing materials. It's been my observation that it gets brittle with age.

Could be, that is, unless you get it from a fresh wreck. But would
still beat fiber getting caught on anything it can. That is, if thats the way one is going to go. jamesgangnc wrote: It's been my observation that it gets brittle with age. Tim wrote: Correct.
