Fared better than the SoCal guy last year maybe 2 years ago, that had a
breeching whale land on the boat killing him. Does this sort of thing happen a lot? Is something that happens at night mostly when the whales can't see you? I don't imagine they are doing it on purpose but damn!! Crushed by whale, not an easy way to go. Can you put a light on the bottom of your boat if you are near whales at night to let them know you are there? Drifting with motor off and one blew about 2' from the passenger side windshield. Loud noise and what looks like a water column shooting up beside the boat. Had been watching the whales feed about 200 yards away and was not expecting the inspection. My boat is about 23' overall and a Humpback is about 2x that. |
