WATER!!! whew Yep - I was down on Saturday and saw that the lake had come up a bit. I hope they get my riprap installed before it is full again :-) Lake Murray here in SC is finally back up to near full pool. It's been down for over two years as they reinforced the dam. I was out last Saturday, and we've got our lake back! I like lake Murray, We use to live in Lexington and used that marina by the dam to launch from. It was great because it was so close to the house. We were there when they droped the lake to kill the hydrilla that was choking the shallows, did that work out ? You mean the state ramp on the West Columbia/Irmo side of the Dam? I took him to mean the marina on the Lexington side of the dam... Jake's. That's my home base. I there visiting my son who lives in Lexington County (West Columbia) and I took a ride up to Lake Murray - I was amazed at the difference between last August and now - totally different lake than it was last summer. No doubt about it. It's just over 2 feet away from full pool. That's as high as they ever let it get. Fortunately it's a pretty deep lake, so if you had water to get your boat in, you could use the lake even when it was down. There were a lot of lake property owners who had no water for a long time, though. |
