Why would you want to?
Just now I received the most amazing email offer. "Imagine walking aboard your $4mm EUR luxury yacht in Cannes, Beirut, etc, fully staffed with a professional crew, for a fraction of the cost of total ownership!" Sounds pretty good to me, but I have to wonder; do you get to pick your own "fraction"? With a small enough fraction, this would have to be down in the same range as owning a 40-year old Grand Banks, right? :-) From the spam file: Imagine walking up to this with your friends and family onboard your 4 Million Euro luxury Maiora, fully crewed Yacht. Join the IFA Yacht Ownership Club and make this happen for a fraction of the price of ownership and charter costs. For more information: click here The IFA Yacht Ownership Club works just like a golf or country club - members pay an annual fee which grants them access to the club's services and facilities, in this case a fleet of professionally crewed and maintained, luxury yachts in four international cruising zones. The Club's fleet currently consists of three luxury Maiora motor yachts, ranging from 23 metres to 27 metres in length, that are based in Dubai, Beirut and Cannes. Once aboard any of the yachts, Club members will be attended by a fully qualified, Captain, Deckhand and Steward. Each yacht comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests in four exclusively appointed on-suite cabins. www.ifayoc.com |

I can't see the rationale for tying up money long term with an outfit that may not even be around 5 years from now. There have been some big time failures with a few of these luxury time share operators, and a lot of people left holding the bag. And it's not like these boats are appreciating in value, totally the opposite. |
