You're lucky, Don. You guys don't celebrate Thanksgiving. The day after
Thanksgiving is when many wives start on their husbands to put up the
Christmas decorations. Then it's a battle to see how long we can
procrastinate. Sometimes I make it until December 1st, if I'm lucky.

Say what?
We always celebrate Thanksgiving when it should be celebrated...at the
end of the harvest season. That is...the 2nd Monday in October.

Now *that* shows decisiveness!

Maybe bouncing the dates around every few years keeps the women from
demanding Christmas decorations immediately thereafter.

Been the same for the last 50 years. That's all that matters.

Just fine. Wife had new bedroom furniture coming so my job was to
repair any cracks in the plaster & gyproc, washdown with TSP, prime &
paint the ceiling & walls.

Ah - the "old ball and chain" huh?

Oh well.

Got the outside lights up yesterday and the tree down from the attic &
assembled. Today we're decorating.

Wow - your late. I did my lights two weeks ago.

What is it with all the Al Gore / Global warming people putting up Electric

Hey Bill, have you found where Al Gore is 100% blaming global warming
on man? I'd really like to see that, thanks in advance!

Who - me?

About ten years ago when I still had my three 100 foot radio towers, I
went absolutely nuts with the lights and the house lights. All three
towers had lights running up and down - flashing lights and I managed
to rig a huge Santa and Sleigh with reindeer between two of them also
lighted. Each tower had a star at the top and the guy wires had green
lights. The house was completely covered in lights and all the trees
in the front yard - I rented a bucket truck to string lights up in the
branches. I figured I was burning $27 dollars a day on the lights.

You could see the glow from the Putnam/Woodstock town line. :)

I never did it again unfortunately. Not because of the cost, but
because it took me until Spring to get everything down off the towers
because we had a lot of snow that year and everything was frozen
solid. :)

I went nuts one year and strung lights on everything that wouldn't
move, and some that did! I never did that again for the same reason as
you, it seemed great at the time, but when I had to take all of that
crap down I was hating myself!

Who's "all the Al Gore / Global warming people"??
I put up low consumption LED outside lights the week before Christmas
and
take them down on New Years Day.

Was over by Berkeley today to see Mom. Lots of lights in very liberal
Berkeley.

What holiday were they celebrating, any idea?

Even has a low power radio station broadcasting Chrismas Music. Will have
to go up their and take a Brownie Starflash picture to post overthere.
