The day after Thanksgiving is when many wives start on their husbands to put up the Christmas decorations. Then it's a battle to see how long we can procrastinate. Sometimes I make it until December 1st, if I'm lucky. -- John H *Have a great Christmas and a spectacular New Year!* Say what? We always celebrate Thanksgiving when it should be celebrated...at the end of the harvest season. That is...the 2nd Monday in October. http://www.pch.gc.ca/progs/cpsc-ccsp...a/action_e.cfm Now *that* shows decisiveness! Maybe bouncing the dates around every few years keeps the women from demanding Christmas decorations immediately thereafter. -- John H *Have a great Christmas and a spectacular New Year!* Been the same for the last 50 years. That's all that matters. If it works, it's good! -- John H *Have a great Christmas and a spectacular New Year!* |

Got the outside lights up yesterday and the tree down from the attic & assembled. Today we're decorating. Wow - your late. I did my lights two weeks ago. What is it with all the Al Gore / Global warming people putting up Electric decoration lights? Hey Bill, have you found where Al Gore is 100% blaming global warming on man? I'd really like to see that, thanks in advance! |

What is it with all the Al Gore / Global warming people putting up Electric decoration lights? Who - me? About ten years ago when I still had my three 100 foot radio towers, I went absolutely nuts with the lights and the house lights. All three towers had lights running up and down - flashing lights and I managed to rig a huge Santa and Sleigh with reindeer between two of them also lighted. Each tower had a star at the top and the guy wires had green lights. The house was completely covered in lights and all the trees in the front yard - I rented a bucket truck to string lights up in the branches. I figured I was burning $27 dollars a day on the lights. You could see the glow from the Putnam/Woodstock town line. :) I never did it again unfortunately. Not because of the cost, but because it took me until Spring to get everything down off the towers because we had a lot of snow that year and everything was frozen solid. :) I went nuts one year and strung lights on everything that wouldn't move, and some that did! I never did that again for the same reason as you, it seemed great at the time, but when I had to take all of that crap down I was hating myself! |
