COAST GUARD CLOSES RIVER BARS PORTLAND, Ore. - The Captain of the Port of Portland and the Captain of the Port of Seattle have issued that the following river bar entrances be closed due to hazardous conditions: GRAYS HARBOR, WILLAPA BAY, COLUMBIA RIVER, NEHALEM RIVER, TILLAMOOK BAY, NETARTS BAY, SILETZ BAY, DEPOE BAY, YAQUINA BAY, SIUSLAW RIVER, UMPQUA RIVER, COOS BAY, COQUILLE RIVER, ROGUE RIVER, CHETCO RIVER and QUILLAYUTE RIVER. Weather conditions have caused many Coast Guard stations to close down, and the bars will remain closed until Search and Rescue capabilities are restored. Any requests to transit the bars prior to reopening must be approved by the Captain of the Port of Portland or Captian of the Port of Seattle until further notice. Mariners may contact the Coast Guard on VHF Channel 16 for further information or to request crossing. ### View this document online U.S. Coast Guard - 13th District 13th District Public Information Site Visit this link to unsubscribe: http://www.piersystem.com/go/unsubscribe/21/ Check out this picture on the weather channel http://www.weather.com/maps/news/sev...=wxcenter_maps Criminey - a little wind, a little wave action and all you left coasters go berserk.
