You're absolutely right. I'm embarrassed that I slipped to his level.
It's
funny though... I have him killfiled, and I still see his posts since I
need
to read other postings, in case something relevant is added to the
thread.

I've only been around here for a couple of years, and it's clear who's
worth
reading, and who's not. So far, I only have one fella KF'd. g

To get back on topic, what Bill say's is correct. I don't care what the
"on
the record" response is from the authorities; It's far from reality. In
the
Delta (I live in the bay area and boat there as well), there are
countless
boats scattered along the shores... abandoned. There's over a thousand
miles
of waterways in the Sac River Delta, so it's a problem. Some (as Bill
says)
are big suckers, barges and such. It seems to me that if the authorities
were actively chasing down the owners, that part of the punishment would
be
removal of the vessel. But they sit there... stripped of anything useful,
and most likely would sink if they weren't grounded. To me, it gives the
area some character... it's not like it's garbage floating in the water.
In
many cases, they are landmarks (watermarks?) as well. It is easy to get
lost
out there if you don't have a GPS, or know the area.

I've lived in the area also. So, are you saying, like Bill, that the
authorities condone this? Also, back to the original comment. If this
is true, why would Mythbusters have to solicit for a hull to play with?

If you are into Karate, you have taken at least a thousand too many blows to
the brain. Or you took on a NYC taxi driver, who replied to your Karate
stance with a NYC taxi driver tire iron response. Myth Busters wants a
cheap hull. Why pay pay, when you can get one free, or almost free. All
those abandoned hulls in the Sac Delta, are not floating.
