Thanks for making my point! You said that there are no abandoned boats in the delta that are capable of floating or could be made to float cheaply. Now you are saying there are lots of floating structures that the homeless are using as housing!! Which is it? There are wrecks barely floating and none that are 1992, was the year I think the TV show wanted, floating. You know for a FACT that there are "none" that are 1992 in all of the delta? How do you know this? Oh, and of course, you are wrong about THAT! OK I am wrong. You happy now? I bow to your perfectness, Mr. Schnapps. Good. You finally figured it out, or have just been trying to cover your tracks for weeks? Ok, Mr. Schnapps. Okay, Mr. 35hp Wankel Evinrude that would do 70 m.p.h. Okay, Mr. Every abandoned boat in the delta doesn't float, can't be made to float, and there aren't any that are 1992's. Okay Mr. The marinas just simply scuttle boats that fees are deliquent on. Okay, Mr. Jeeps have bad transmissions. Okay Mr. I tell lies about others as soon as I'm proven to be wrong again. Wankel did do 35. Uh, Bill, you said it would do 70. No way, no how. Just because you are ignorant of most items and social skills, does not mean everybody else is. What does someones social skills or lack thereof have anything to do with a 35 horse Wankel on a huge evinrude snowmobile allegedly doing 70 mph? And jeeps cherokees were famous for bad tranny. cite? I've been around Jeeps all of my life, never heard of such thing. Still own a Cherokee with more than a quarter million miles on it, pull my bass boat with it, never a problem. And the marina did not scuttle. It sells the boat to a salvager if the owner fails to pay fees. You've changed that story more times that a whore changes underwear. I showed you a direct email from the manager of the marina you cited denying anything like that, and denying it staunchly. Want to see it again? And I still doubt you are a registered PE! You've been wrong on every occasion about me, so that's no surprise! |

Here, I'll help! from mp3car.com ALL concerning Jeep's auto tranny. I think that the transmissions 85 and prior had a problem with the input shaft where it would shatter after about 70-100K miles. After that they are pretty strong. The four wheel drive setup on Jeeps is supurb. When in 4 low the front axle locks into posi-track (track-lock for the ford lovers out there) so it delivers good steady power to all wheels. This is also why you should never try to turn hard while in 4 low.... dragging tires. I have a '91 with 120k on it. No real troubles. Previous owners never used it and all the seals dried up, but it's much better now. My family has had several and none of them have had any expensive troubles. I guess the main reason I like them so much is that they are easy to work on. Parts a plenty out there... 2000 Cherokee It manages to shield the driver from discomfort without reducing the tactile pleasure of getting in and driving. The transmission carries that theme; it shifts smoothly but firmly, not unlike the old TorqueFlites, and downshifts when wanted, but not every time you hit the gas. The six cylinder engine, which pulls immediately from idle and keeps on going to redline, is also a pleasure. From rec.autos I was told the transmission on the1996 Jeep Gand Cherokee is unreliable, can anyone verify that?? Thanks My sister has a '96. No problems or rumors that I am aware of. Thanks I have had repair or replace a trans in a Jeep for any reason other then abuse or neglect. The 96 Jeeps use the chrysler 904 transmission. It has been a reliable tranny in other Chrysler built vehicles. The only difference for 96 is an electronic governor that allows the computer to have more control over shifting, for things like interactive speed control. I haven't seen any problems so far. |
