Collinite fleetwax paste consistently tests best in Powerboat Reports independent tests. I've been using it for years and it lasts a long time. I also use it on my car. The regular Collinite marine wax is their product # 925 and is labeled "Fiberglass boat wax". They also have a product # 870 which is labeled as a "cleaner wax for marine, rv and aeronautical finishes". I tried both on different sections of the boat cockpit a while back to see which was better. The # 870 produced a much brighter shine, is easier to apply and the shine lasts longer. Better than 3M? Better than the regular 3M cleaner wax, which I've also tried .... in fact, much better. IIRC, it was also a bit pricey compared to the regular Collinite marine wax, but worth it. I need to find some more as I have just about used up what I have. I've never done the whole 3M multi-step process because the Navigator has not oxidized much. I've had it waxed at least once a year ... twice a year while it was in Florida ... since it was new. I might have to do something different on the Scout. It's been sitting for three years and was only waxed once. I don't think it's oxidized, but it sure is dirty. Eisboch |
