![]() "Harry Krause" wrote in message . .. Jim Webb has been declared the apparent winner of the Virginia U.S. Senate race over incumbent George Allen. This is an astonishing victory for Webb, who while bright and with a good resume, is about as exciting as watching paint dry. The consensus seems to be that though Webb ran a strong campaign, Allen did himself in, beginning with his famous "Macaca" statements. If the Virginia board of elections declares Webb the winner, the Democrats will control the House, the Senate, and the majority of state governors' mansions, a trifecta. Bush will no longer be able to nominate and see confirmed right-wing extremist judges, a good thing. And hopefully Congress will no longer waste its time and our money on adult privacy issues. Congratulations. The ball will soon be in your court. You take over with some impressive milestones that I previously posted. Let me post them once again: A 4.4% unemployment rate (I believe that is the lowest in over a decade), record stock market levels, gasoline around $2/gallon and a booming economy. Most importantly..........no terrorist attacks on US soil since 9-11. Time for your party to walk the walk. You have 2 years. The clock starts in January. ;-) |

I believe that there was a point during Clinton's 2 terms where you could say all of the above were true as well. It all depends when the snapshot is taken. ;-) --Mike " JimH" not telling you @ pffftt.com wrote in message ... "Harry Krause" wrote in message . .. I am more compelled to
believe that the true strength of this nation rests on the shoulders of the American people, regardless of who is in what office. I couldn't agree more. That's why I never pull the R or D lever (remember those machines?). I vote for the candidate I think will do the best for me and us, never for a party. --Mike wrote in message oups.com...
