Default Hinckley T-44...

Looked at a T-44 Hinckley this morning and spent most of the day on
the boat.

Very impressed and I've got to give Cali Bill some props - those jets
are freakin' awesome.

It's more the style Mrs. Wave likes and it has the speed that I like.
It's not a monster in terms of size and is very comfortably appointed
for a 44 footer.

The coolest thing was the JetStick steering - that was WAY cool. Once
you get used to it, you can pretty much put the boat anywhere you want
with some real precision.

Quite a boat - quite a price too, but hey, you only go 'round once in
life.

Well, maybe not if you are a Hindu or Karma type.

Tomorrow - Mainship Pilot 34 and a 40 Trawler (eeeewwwww)...

You're comparing Mainship to Hinckley?

At least the differences will be obvious. But a definite difference in
price, as well.
Both might be pretty good values for the money- that's a subjective
judgment and why we can be sure that some Mainships sell to some folks
who could afford a Hinckley if they wanted to.

I'm trying to get a feel for different types of boats - as long as
Mrs. Wave needs her creature comforts, that's the direction we'll be
going.

By the end of the week, I'll have an idea of what we should and
shouldn't be looking for.

Will you be looking at any of the Eastbay series from Grand Banks? GB
is making a concerted effort to discard the "pokey trawler" image with
these boats, and GB typically offers fairly high quality products at
prices that represent good value.
