Default Need Help Finding Boat Owner

Go to Google Earth and check out your neighbor's yards for the boat. If
it's been in one of their yards for several years, there's a chance it'll
show on Google Earth. My pickup shows up in front of my house.

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried Google Earth. Unfortunately, the
boat has been stored under a tree, so it probably wouldn't show up in a
satellite photo anyway. It's full of leaves (and beer cans), and this
is a large area. By "neighbors", I meant someone who lives in the
general vicinity, not necessarily next door. It had to be someone from
nearby, because the trailer is so bad that dragging it for any distance
would draw tons of attention. The wheels consist of a few shreds of
rubber hanging off badly twisted rims.

I didn't know that boats were registered with the DMV...I'll definitely
be making a trip there to try to find out who the owner is/was. All I
need is an address, since I actually saw the truck that towed the boat
to where it is. As I pulled into my driveway, they were just finishing
unhooking it, and they took off in a hurry when they saw me. Had I
realized what was happening, I could have followed them, but it took a
minute to register, and they got away in the meantime. Anyway, if I
find that truck at the address of the registered owner of the boat, I
got 'em!

I called the CHP; they said they'd come out and check it out, but it's
still there this morning. This road is a heavily used bicycle route,
and the boat is completely blocking the bike lane. Plus, cars
regularly drive 60 to 70 mph on this road, so the boat's presence,
forcing bikers out of the bike lane and into the road, is a very
dangerous situation. I hope it doesn't take a horrible accident to
convince the cops to have this beast impounded.
