How do you determine the maximum size of a sailboat for a lake? Our lake is 19.6 miles in length, max depth is 183' and max width is 1.9miles. Nice sized lake. Will you be spending extended periods (weeks etc) aboard? How big is your family? One way is to go modest with a trailerable sailboat. Mine can hold two adults & two children, has a Marine Sanitation Device with pumpout fittings. see: http://sailquest.com/market/models/spipe.htm The Sandpiper 565... or Capri 18 (Catalina 18) would be fine for smaller crews. |
