Over at Vincennes, there's a guy that every year for the past 20 or so,
has gone skiing on the Wabash river EVERY NEW YEARS DAY! temp is hovering around zero. he has a 454 powered Glastron jet boat. about 1989 I was elected to drive the jet. it was fun, But being dressed in Carharts, and a military parka. with insulated boots, was comfortable enough, till i thought of the idea of for some reason taking on water and giong down. Then the thought of driving the boat the next year wasn't very entertainable. At least for me it wasn't. But Bill? Oh he's got the latest in cold weather scuba suits that he wears he's warm enough, especially with a couple shots of brandy in him. .. I have to admit it was wierd hearing chunks of ice hit that hull . I don't own an ice breaker, but a few years ago I took the Princecraft up to Webster Lake and it had been cold enough to put a 1/16" or so on the surface of the lake. I had a blast running around busting up all the ice. I could see how somebody could get into that. |
