To the extent that their violent nutcases wouldn't have
attracted Israeli attacks to destroy their built-up farms,
roads, water plants, factories, office buildings, hospitals,
schools, shops, & orchards, yes definitely.

Some of them have been devoted to building, but more of them
seem intent on destruction and/or martyrdom. It's certainly
true that they have attracted a heck of a lot of capital and
don't have much to show for it.

Agreed. What's worse, the U.S. strategic thinkers (if I may
use the term) have adopted Israel's losing strategy of
reprisal based on conventional military superiority.

As some people keep on whining, this allows them to kill
lots of Palestinians, but not necessarily the right ones.
And unless one is willing to kill much larger numbers of
them, that's a strategy that only leads to further hatred &
violence.
