Like sticking ones tongue in a live light socket There's nothing like experience for a teacher. Do you shelter your kids from climbing trees because they may get a boo-boo? Do you not let them run for fear of a scraped knee when they fall? Do you not let them swim for fear of drowning? Do you watch their every move to make sure they don't do something you think will harm them or get them dirty? Sheesh. I know I would tell my kids not to kiss a shark, do not stick your hand into the prop while it is turning, or dive into unknown water without checking the depth of the area to make sure the entire area is deep enough for diving. There are many things where the consequences is so great, that you do not want your children to learn through experience. Kissing or harassing a shark, even a Nurse Shark, is one that falls into catagory. I am surprised that anyone would disagree, but in rec.boats, I learn something new everyday. |
