Anybody paddled both in the surf?
I've got a 12' 6" fiberglass WaveWitch as in http://www.huntjohnsendesigns.com/index.htm and have been enjoying it a *lot* since early spring - both on flat water and in the surf. Only problem I have with it in the ocean surf is not becoming a wave hog because it's so much easier to catch waves with it compared to the people on poly sit-on-tops. But I only recently became aware of wave skis as in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMrwTIdue0M Can anybody comment on the differences/similarities in function/technique? Surfboard-analogy-wise, I'm thinking longboard vs tandem board. I'm kind of all alone out here - there's nobody to watch/emulate. Should I be trying to emulate the moves in the YouTube video...or is it futile? -- PeteCresswell |
