I'm thinking about buying this motor: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sniper...cd.jpg&.src=ph The owner says that the throttle is NOT on the tiller handle but is combined into the shifter lever, the more forward you pull that handle the faster the motor goes. This is something I've not seen before. Do any of you have experience with these? Can you confirm what the seller is telling me? Also; are these a pretty decent little motor? I'd be using it on a 12' alum V bow boat, if I get it. Thanks for your help. This is the norm arrangement for any boat with a helm and steering wheel, since your 12' Jon boat does not, you should not purchase this motor and look for a OB with the throttle on the tiller. |

This is something I've not seen before. that 4 hp is a sweet running motor but it does NOT have a shifter on it. There is no shifting as it is always turning the prop. When you start it up you have to know where you are pointed as it is always in gear. You have to turn the motor 180° to go backwards. The throttle lever is on the side as you can see from the pic.
