Default NAVMAN 2100 FUEL flow meter

Hi,

Can i use this fuel meter with an 325 hp MPI inboard engine? Beause
the info says that it only works on carburated engines but why should
it not work on EFI/MPI engines??

Thanks

Some, but not all, efi has a fuel return line that goes back into the
tank. I think that boats usually don't but I'm not sure about that.
If you have a fuel return line then you can't use it. If you don't I
would think you could use it.

The MPI has a fuel return to tank line, and the Navman does not handle that
part. NAVMAN does not have one for the MPI.

Unless someone here happens to have that specific engine it's still
going to come down to you finding out if it has a return fuel line or
not. Many mpi configurations return excess fuel to the tank. Because
of that the fuel flow meter you have does not work as it would only
measure the fuel going into the system and would not be able to
consider the fuel being returned to the tank. I believe that you
cannot change the outlet of that return line back into the supply line
after the meter because the fuel gets warm. I'm not sure but I thing
the fuel flow meters for efi installations with a return line actually
have two sending units, the second one goes on the return line so it
can be deducted from the fuel measured by the supply line.

I suspect your choices for that engine will be limited. What's wrong
with the floscan?

Its looks old fashion, don't like that, was wondering if there are any
other options for me.
Also don't need the rpm.
