You was wrong, and still are. And you apparently miss the larger issue of wages not be adjusted to fit market demands. This whole argument about foreign workers is a smokescreen clouding the real issue of wages being far too low. The days of racing to the bottom to get illegals to do the work for next to nothing are rapidly coming to a close. Wages will have to rise and that will certainly affect market prices. But as they've been artifically low for over two decades it's coming time to see them adjust. Blame yourselves for pretending you could get everything for low prices, you can't and it's now becoming painfully clear. I think you're wrong, Bill. The Republican-Corporate plan to return American workers to serfdom is still in its initial stages. And we haven't been getting "everything" at low prices. Most of the prices middle income folks pay for what they need are artificially high. As an example, a Nikon digital camera that sells in this country for $1600 can be purchased in Thailand for $600. We're being squeezed for the last drops. And I haven't even addressed what is happening to workers at the workplace. I'm sure I won't live long enough to see it, but it would warm my cold bones if middle-class Americans revolt some time in the future and stick the heads of Republican lawmakers and judges and corporate muckity-mucks on pikes. |
