Chrysler to Evinrude steering cable questions....

OK, I think I may have found a pontoon boat for me. it's a '73 Sanpan,
wich is not in "beater shape, but could be better. the 'toons are in
great shape, the trailer needs some work. New salt treated floor a
couple years ago, with some crappy green carpet that needs replaced,
next to no furniture, and what is there is junk. rusty bolts everywhere
.. Solid, but needs TLC. $1500.00

It has a blown Chrysler 50 hp. attached to it. I'm not interested in
fixing the motor when one of my brothers has a great running Evinrude
115 sitting doing nothing. Mounting the engine is no problem, but I
was wondering if how much I'd have to modify the steering cable to do
the swap? Will it fit the way it is? can one modify? or does it need
a total replacement?

Thanks!

Steering cables are not brand specific; the differences in engines is
handled by the steering attachment kit. These are available from the
engine manufacturers and also from the steering cable companies ( Morse,
teleflex, etc.)

Good luck and good boating,
Jim
