Default OMC Stringer Manual Trim?

Does anyone have any experience with Manually trimming an older OMC 400
with no power trim? I would assume that you could attempt to trim it
some by adjusting the jack screw on the front motor mount. Just not
sure what effects it would have if any. Looking to see if it has been
done.

AFAIK The jack screw is the only adjustment. Tilting the drive out stresses
the ball gears and causes excessive wear on them.
