I have a VW Beetle & Toyota Echo & cannot find a good place to hook
ropes for a car top canoe carrier on either car. The Echo has good tow hooks in the back & the Beetle has 1 on 1 side in the back. The bumpers on both of these cars are fiberglass and I don't trust them to take the stress. Any suggestions on how to tie down the front? Thanks in advance! |

I think both of these cars have fenders that have exposed bolts under the hood. If so, we have hood straps that can easily be attached to the fender bolts, flipped up when needed, and then tucked under the hood when not required. Easier on the paint than ropes that go across the fenders or the bumper. http://www.kettercanoeing.com/shop/i...a0e628aaff43d4 Enjoy, Marsh Ketter Canoeing Brooklyn Park, MN |
