First of all I'd like to say Hi and I'm happy to have found these
boards.

I've been looking at Boats for about 6 months and have settled on a
power cruiser, used to avoid the hicky and beacuse it'll be my first
real boat. This boat seems to meet my needs and would love to hear from
some experienced people for their comments.

2001 WELLCRAFT MARTINIQUE 2600

Volvo GS 5.7 Volvo Duo Prop W/ UNDER 130 HOURS on boat and less than 40
hours on new engine with warranty till Dec. 06...FRESH WATER ONLY.

Has all the goodies included and is a clean boat.

Thanks for your coments.

Good point, but...........how can that be a bad thing, especially with the
new one having less than 40 hours on it?

From what I know about the Wellcraft Martinique's (we looked closely at a 32
footer before we bought our Maxum) they are built like tanks!

Which is why the 5.7 is a little underpowered for a 2600... but for
cruising, & w/ the DuoProp, it will probably be adequate.

I am just wondering why a 5 year old boat with less than 130 hours on it
needed a new engine.

Yep.....so ask any further questions to: Greg Group, CO

He has seen plenty of them and rates them (as I did) as rock solid!

OMG! I forgot to tell you that he even thinks the newer Bayliners
are.....................(are you sitting down?)..........a good value for
their intended purpose..........near shore, inland lake or freshwater!

Imagine that. ;-)

I understand and you have a good question..................but.............

Our old dock neighbor (when we had our 32 footer) had and engine problem on
his brand new boat..........the engine was replaced. I am sure he was able
to document the problem and the reason why the other engine failed.

The bottom line is that he had a newer engine professionally installed.

So I ask again..........how can that be a bad thing?
