Default Lowrance 17M GPS sonar unit

I just purchased the Navionics Hotmaps for the Eastern United States to go
in my Lowrance 17M unit.

Now all I need is someone to show me how to use this darned thing!!

The instruction book is 194 pages long.
Are there any sites that can help someone figure out how this thing works.

Fredo

Read the manual?

Heh, heh, heh...

First off, what is it you want to do? I can't help you unless I have
an idea of wether you want split screen, single screen GPS/Sonar - you
get the drill.

I can get you to the basic stuff, but the rest will be up to you.

I think I have figured out the split screen I just have problems with sizing
the different screens and getting GPS speed and temp to display with the
sonar.

The Navionics hot maps are another issue.... they come with no instructions
just an advertisement for more Navionics software.

I also have an X125 up front with the transducer built in to the trolling
motor head but the temp showed as 32° F. last weekend and I know that is
incorrect for Indiana at this time of year. I think I am going to have to
add a separate temp sensor for the front unit.

Thanks for the help.

Go to "overlay data" and select add items or something like that. Then
it expands into a list of stuff you can add.

The sonar screen has to be the active screen if split. And the overlays
are separate for the split and full screen options.

Thanks, Del.

Aren't you up in MN on Lake Vermillion?

I need to plan a 2 week Vac. in MN for next summer now that I've got a
decent boat.

I know I am going to spend about 4 days around Park Rapids. Any Other
suggestions?

I am in Rochester, but we have a cabin on Lake Vermilion. It is a truly
beautiful lake. I would be happy to supply information and links if you
or anyone is interested.
