If it wasn't so blasted hot, I'd have it out a lot more often. I've
had it out about 5 times since memorial day. boohoo.

Unbearably hot is our number 1 motivation for going to the lake!

Why not buy one then? They are relatively inexpensive and quite easy to
install. We paid $340 for ours and purchased it over the net.

Well, I really haven't been pleased with what I see. I'd like to find
an OE which is next to impossible. But otherwise it seems like the
bimini's all look like an old buggy top.

style is one thing ,protection is another.

And next year I may have a different boat. one WITH a top.

Buggy top? You won't find any bimini stylish or non buggy top looking on a
small boat, even when professionally installed.........if you expect to be
able to stand underneath it. The look is diminished as the boat length is
increased.

Looks like a 25+ footer is in your future.....otherwise get used to the
'buggy top' look with biminis or continue to fry in the sun. ;-)

LOL, No Jim, thats the whole point. I'm not frying in the sun. and
won't get a buggy bimini thats why I'm not boating on a scalding hot
day with no cloud coverage.

a buggy top is 'ok" but not that necessary.

Amen! And somewhere around here I've got my Expert Marksmanship Badge to
prove it.

I am not 100% sure, but I think the rifles we used to guard the trash
dumpsters (dipstey-dumpsters)
in the Navy in the late 60's were old M-1s with the firing pin removed. We
used to exercises with the damn thing and it felt like it weighed 100lbs
after an hour or so.

The big old "market" unbrella I use would make you crazy huh?

Just about anything does right now.

one of the problems I have with a buggy top is wind resistance.

My Chris is heavy for the size boat that it is, and woth a meger 140 hp
3.0 loaded with wife daughter son and some grand kids, loaded cooler
etc. plaining would be a trip to say the least.

or thats some of my thoughts

No ammo though. Got the guns, no ammo. WTF were these guys supposed

I swear on a stack of bibles that's a true story.

I can believe it.

Twice, once in the Delaware and once in the Chesapeake. All the rain we
had late spring and early summer kind of cut into my weekends.

A few times, but with a 7 week driving trip to Alaska and now getting the
house cleaned up for Daughters wedding in a couple of weeks, not much time.
Figuring Wed's, taking the boat for a test run, so when the friends are
here, we can do a boating day.

Dempster Dumpsters. When I was a youth, one evening at my fathers machine
shop, the original Dempster Dumpster on a truck that they used for demo's
came in for some work. Everybody thought is was a good concept.
Unfortunately, no one bought stock in the company.
