I have no problem with the quality of American health care. I do have
concerns about availability and costs. Statistics of life expectancy,
infant mortality, etc. show that our health care availability is not what
it could be. It is also true that our health care costs are @ 15% GDP, as
opposed to Canada's *universal* care at @ 10% GDP. Quality of care issues
aside, that 5% puts us at a competitive disadvantage in the global
marketplace.
