Been doing any striper fishing up there lately? Being in the 90's here, with water temps up, you have to find stripers by trolling known DEEP structure. They aren't coming up much for top water baitfish, unless you are out in the main lake. I'm going out this weekend for our excellent spotted bass. They claim that because of the introduction of blue back herring into the lake, that the next record spotted bass will probably come from Lanier. You can see the difference in a couple of years, they are SO fat. Shaw Grigsby loves coming to Lanier for the spots. When I'm there, I may downline some shiners in the afternoon and try the striper bite. See: http://www.fishin.com/reports/ga/Lanier.htm I've not been fishing yet this year! Fishing in the bay, from what I hear, is not going all that well this year. The stripers came and left early, due to the warm winter, and the rain has dirtied the bay pretty badly. My new hobby is golf. I started last year, and it's taken much of the fishing time away. Golf, fishing, and motorcycling are not hobbies that get along well together! -- ****************************************** ***** Have a Spectacular Day! ***** ****************************************** John |
