William, I brought the boat home today to start cleaning her up for vacation
and raise the waterline (bottompaint). I used the Barkeepers Friend to
clean the scumline as you suggested and it worked wonderfully! Thanks for
the heads up.

A mixture of oxalic acid and a mild scrub brush will do it.
Wear goggles.

Barkeepers Friend is a wonderful product. It's also a great brass and
copper cleaner. I wouldn't waste it as a stainless stelle cleaner; I'd
just use Bab-O.
