![]() "I have learned to be content with what I have, realizing that it could be a LOT worse. " Glad you posted that, Jeff. BTW, John H's daughter is suffering from breast cancer. Very mis-fortunate. I've talked with John, and I'm sure his daughter is a most wonderful person. so..how does "karma" fit into that situation? Yes, the good have lifes problems too.... Chehalis Jeff wrote: Wouldn't it be great if Karma was real and all the really bad people got what they deserved and the good people succeeded in what they attempt to accomplish? I think all one needs to do is take a sober look around at the evidence. Even though "billions" may believe in it, it's wishful thinking. "Time and unforeseen occurrence befall us all" Stuff happens. Glad you had a place you could "spill" your frustrations. If this makes you feel better, 6 years ago within 3 months, my wife left me (for her cousin's husband) she stole my kids out of state (didn't see them from four months) I was rear-ended on the freeway and broke my neck. I had seven operations and had to learn how to walk again. In the meantime my business went under (now ex-wife embezzled all the money) my house went into foreclosure and I was forced to declare bankruptcy. I had been (and am) an honest, God fearing, good husband who paid his taxes. It wasn't Karma, however I learned a great deal about myself in the process and like they say, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Now I am remarried to a wonderful woman who values me, I retired from the settlement I got from my injuries, I am in the process of buying some acreage and a nice home to live in and I enjoy my BOAT. I see my kids a couple of times a week (you know how the court system is, women get the kids unless they are a crack whore and sometimes even then...) and I pay a lot of child support but, oh well, you can't have everything. I have learned to be content with what I have, realizing that it could be a LOT worse. Jeff basskisser wrote: Reginald P. My wife calls me downstairs at about 9:30 this morning to find our basement flooded. The sump pump died and we had torrential rain all night. Our basement is finished and all the carpeting and baseboards are lost, perhaps even the lower course of drywall. Well I just got done installing a new 3/4 hp 4,800 gph unit and I have to wait to let it do it's job. More rain is on the way. What a wonderful holiday weekend. What a great vacation. What's next Lord? Come on......what's next!! Sorry to hear about your problems. One of the big problems with wet wallboard not being replaced is mold and long term health problems for all who live in the home. As far as the slew of troubles, I am a big believer in Karma, maybe you need to look within for the solution. Karma can be a bitch. Hope *all* works out with him. -- John H ****************************************** ***** Have a Spectacular Day! ***** ****************************************** Kick him a few more times when he's down....I believe he's still twitching. Unbelievable that some folks get some sort of twisted pleasure hearing of other folks problems. Instead of offering a word of hope they kick you in the balls with a smile on their face. Karma? My ass. Look within yourself Reggie for some compassion and understanding. Then go take a flying leap and screw yourself. I don't need that type of crap from you, especially today and especially after all the crap I just went through. Anyway....... Looks like the emergency work.........water extraction, carpet tear out and floor cleanup/disinfectant job........will run around $5,000 alone seeing it happened on a holiday. Then we have to replace the carpet and trim....probably another $2,500. Add to that the cost of the boat engine repair staring at me.........while having 2 kids in college. I bet that makes Reggie really happy. JimH, Try to go back and read my post again. I started off by saying "Sorry to hear about your problems." I then added some recommendations from insurance companies and their recommendations about mold after water damage and that you may need to replace your wallboard. This is someone who is going beyond just lip service, but is concerned about you and your family's long term safety. Black Mold can kill or cause severe health problems. I then made a comment about my persona belief about Karma. I was showing you compassion and understanding from my perspective. I do believe in Karma, and I do try to look inward when everything in my world seems to be going crazy. I would make that same suggestion to any one in my family who was had a similar rash of "accidents". Reread my comments and then read your response to my comment and ask yourself, is it possible that Karma may impact our life.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karma You have had an extremely long rash of problems. I would think you would want to at least think about a concept that billions of people strongly believe in. If not, it is no big deal. The other day I gave him some advice regarding his boat, albeit as a response to someone else. I heard nothing in return. Today he gets some commiseration and twists it into something it isn't. There is something going on there, and I'm glad I'm not going through it. Personally, I think there is something to be said for the concept of 'karma'. -- John H ****************************************** ***** Have a Spectacular Day! ***** ****************************************** If JimH follows his normal MO, he will continue to talk about me getting some twisting pleasure from his misfortune. We all have seen JimH cried for years about Harry stalking him and his sick wife, publishing personal info and pictures of him and his wife, and their home. How Chuck published his home address and telephone number only to sheepishly apologize when he learned someone had actually cached the web page that showed JimH had made up the entire story. Al Capp had a character who had a black cloud who followed him all over the place. JimH definitely seems to have a black cloud following him. If JimH doesn't want to believe in Karma that is ok, but if I was him, I would be looking at anything that would get rid of that black cloud. Trying to use the eastern philosophy of Karma to turn his luck around could not hurt, and just possible might help. -- Reggie Can you say *Bipolar*!!! |
