I'm looking for firsthand feedback on the RV Parks/Marinas in Nice,
California on Clear Lake. 1. Holiday Harbor Marina and RV Park 2. Sandpiper RV Park and Marina 3. Aurora's RV Park and Marina What would it be like to camp at these places with a travel trailer? How is the launch ramp? General info on the parks? Family of 4 with 2 young teens, 25 foot trailer, and 18 foot boat. I wasn't too keen on the areas around the north end of the lake. For the most part, the economy is very depressed and the crime rate is high with vehicle vandalism, even at the better motels. There seems to be a lot of squatters in the area in the RV parks. As mentioned, the area around Lakeport is the nicest in terms of launch facilities and general business. For a good laugh, take your family to the "Clear Lake Bowling Alley." It's just up the road from the police station. Just bring your camera. Personally, I wouldn't allow my teens to interact with the general kid population there in the parks - if you get what I mean. We were just there for the Alan Jackson concert at the Konocti Harbor Resort. During the show, there was a video montage of the area. I still don't know if he was poking fun of the place or not. The bass fishing is pretty good though. B~ |
