I'm looking for firsthand feedback on the RV Parks/Marinas in Nice,
California on Clear Lake.
1. Holiday Harbor Marina and RV Park
2. Sandpiper RV Park and Marina
3. Aurora's RV Park and Marina
What would it be like to camp at these places with a travel trailer?
How is the launch ramp?
General info on the parks?
Family of 4 with 2 young teens, 25 foot trailer, and 18 foot boat.
I wasn't too keen on the areas around the north end of the lake. For the
most part, the economy is very depressed and the crime rate is high with
vehicle vandalism, even at the better motels. There seems to be a lot of
squatters in the area in the RV parks.
As mentioned, the area around Lakeport is the nicest in terms of launch
facilities and general business.
The area is depressed economically with all the associated social ills
present and on display. It is, however, improving with the influx of second
home or vacation home immigrants and law enforcement continues it's efforts
against drug related crime.
As I said, I prefer to avoid the heavy drinking while boating and high
traffic area of the lower lake and west side regions. And Nice is the only
town I've found with non-residential Marina/RV parks (see earlier comment
state park and Lakeport does have a couple of decent launch ramps). So,
I'm just fishing for some first-hand reviews from anyone who has visited or
stayed at the following Clear Lake Marina/RV parks in Nice, California.
Holiday Harbor Marina and RV Park.
Sandpiper Marina RV Park
Aurora Marina RV Park
