I know there's been substantial development in this area the last 10 years, but I really know next to nothing about them. The idea of hardly any vulnerable running gear hanging "down there" is very appealing. I know little about them either. Last summer a guy stayed in the slip beside me overnight. He was enroute delivering a new 36' Hinkley to Key West. Although not his boat, he also personally owned an older Hinkley Picnic with the jet drive. I got to shooting the bull with him and he told me the new ones were really optimized. Before he left the next morning he showed off a bit for me in front of my boat demonstrating the Hinkley's manuverability. It was a single jet with the 440 hp engine. Eisboch www.eisboch.com Hinckley is one of the reasons why I'm looking seriously at the jet drive. They're certainly among the better builders, and if they're happy with the concept, and have been for some years, then the jets must be performing ok. Are you planning to sell both boats, or just the Parker? |
