Just saw this at boatered.com....$800!
I do not know this person nor do I have anything to do with this sale. I just thought I would pass along what seems to be a pretty decent deal for those in the Suffolk County NY area. ======================= http://www.boated.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=85289 This is my second boat that needs an owner who'll use her. This boat was completely gone through by the previous owner who wanted to be sure it was extra safe for his family. These 70's Renkens have a fabulous modified V hull shape that seems to flatten out the notorious afternoon chop here on the Great South Bay-never a pounding. Overall nice condition cosmetically especially for a 1979 vintage. Has built in cooler/fish well in the transom. Rock reliable Chevy straight 6 Mercruiser that as new as can be-see list of new parts below. Has bimini and mooring cover. Box of spare parts and a vintage NOS porta potti included! Needs only a wash and wax and it's ready to launch. It was never even named so the new owner gets that honor. The boat is turn key with $1500 in new engine parts alone. Also available is a single axle Shorlander roller loader trailer with powerwinch that it sits on(not the one pictured). Here are the specs on the boat: 1979 Renken, 21' cuddy, Mercruiser 165hp/250ci engine, Mercruiser Type 1/Model R (solid pre-alpha drive) 60 Gal Fuel Tank Outdrive inspected, all seals replaced and pressure tested in 2003 and 2004. Oil stays clean and dry. Perfect shifting New Alpha 4 prop 2004 New Bellows (u-joint, exh, shift) 2003 New water hose between drive and transom 2003 Rebuilt trim cylinders 2001 New Merc shifter/ controller 2003 New Manifold and elbow 2004 Rebuilt Carb in 2001 New Pertronix electronic ignition 2003 New Pertronix flame thrower coil 2003 New Taylor spiro pro ignition wires 2003 New cap, rotor, and plugs 2003 Seats were replaced 6 years ago Replaced cylinder head w/rebuild 2003 New cam shaft, lifters, and timing gears 2003 Replaced oil pan (old one leaked) 2004 New oil pump while the pan was off 2004 New starter 2003 New alternator 2003 New fuel pump and steel fuel line 2003 New circ pump 2003 New impeller and housing 2003 Replaced engine wiring harness 2003 New fuel tank sender 2004 New fuel tank filler and vent hoses 2004 New rubber fuel lines 2004 New engine water hoses 2003 New belt 2002 New 1100 GPM auto bilge pump 2003 New bilge pump hose 2003 New blower motor 2003 New blower motor hose 2003 New thermostat and housing 2003 New anti-siphon valve in 2004 New anchor light in 2003 And there's non need for a picnic table since you could eat off the engine. Compare this boat to ones that people are selling for 1800-2400. She could use only two things: the sole(floor) has a soft spot. It's not urgent but it will need to be done eventually. There's a new section in floor center(see gray flooring in middle of deck). And,the existing bottom paint is old and peeling. She needs a new coat. It does not appear that she was sanded before application so I was going to strip her down but it's probably easier to just repaint her. This would improve her top speed. 3. Not a need but in the spirit of full disclosu The bottom has been solidly repaired by previous owners on left front-no weeping at all and repairs are not visible when bottom is painted. She's winterized right now and the bargian price is...$800. Trailer is 750. if you need it. I can also deliver this within a reason able distance for a nominal fee.
