Default Much faster than a trawler

The boat for which my publisher is an associate sponsor ran away from
the field at one of the early season races yesterday. It will be a very
good season if that sort of performance is an indicator of things to
come.

Unfortunately, after a convincing victory in the qualifying heat and
easily holding first position all through the final race, our driver
was penalized 60 seconds for mistiming the start. It was apparently
only slight amount, but they don't allow any slack so we finished
(officially) well back in the pack. The only consolation was that the
boat that very narrowly beat us for national title last year *also*
mistimed the start by a similar amount and was penalized 60 seconds in
the final race as well. Miss Graham Trucking won her first ever first
place trophy as a result.

Miss Boat Electric, an "all marine industry" boat, is sponsored by a
consortium of firms in the boating business. (Our logo is on the tail
fins).

For a look at fastest boat that I find personally interesting:

These unlimited lights are a lot more fun for the spectators than the
unlimited hydros. All too often the unlimited races simply turn into a
parade where everybody follows Miss Budweiser around the course and the
only real competition is often for second place.
