Default AGM Battery Recommendations

A fellow "Parker-er" is planning to replace his boat's two batteries and
is interested in going with AGM batteries. I use Optima AGMs, but I
haven't bothered to stay current with AGMs other manufacturers have
developed.

Anyone have any specific AGM manufacturer knowledge to share? I know
West Marine sells them, but I am not aware of the manufacturer, since
they private label.

Thanks.

I'm very impressed with these batteries:

If I were to replace my Rolls flooded cell system (not likely) I would
give this product very careful consideration. They have been sellingin
big volumes for a couple of years or so now, and there have been very
few unhappy owners, (according to the local retailer). These batteries,
built by Northstar, were originally sold as Meridian batteries. Name
has since changed to Energy1.

Thanks. I looked for an online dealer who wasn't too far away, but came
up with zip. UPS'ing 60 pound batteries sounds $$$.

Here's a source in FL, that claims to have an on-line sales dept. They
must have some practical solution to shipping costs.......
