Default Merc 100 (disposing of)

I have a Merc 100 that used to belong to my dad, and I need to get rid
of it. It has been in a shed since the late 70s since he sold his boat.
I'm in CT and 2-strokes aren't legal to use here (it was last used in
Maine). Is there a proper method of disposal other than taking it all
apart and tossing the parts into a dumpster? Am I correct in assuming
that no collector would have a use for this model?

I'd put it up on ebay either in whole or in parts. There are many like
me who like to rebuild old outboards. You will make more money by
parting it out if you don't mind the hassle of disassembly, cleaning
and shipping the parts.

I would suggest contacting Clams Canino. Clams used to be a frequent

He's really busy on Lake Hartwell, for one thing. I actually see him
now and again.

I got the email - and have a home for it - even though it's a 10hp (100hp is
a merc 1000)

And Basskisser... when/where have you seen me... I know my boat is rather
distictive...

I emailed him and gave him a heads-up about this engine.... Say, "HI!"
for me next time you see him....

Ran into you on the island, where that other yankee with the pontoon
boat was cooking up a storm. And my friend that has a place there took
us there, Christy, used to have a white Tahoe I/O. Damn it, having a
hard time thinking of the other yankee's name. He has one eye kinda
askew?
