On Wed, 31 May 2006 23:04:38 GMT, Butch Davis penned the following well considered thoughts to the readers of rec.boats: Yes, my EL groups continues to work... at least most of the time. I had a little difficulty earlier this AM but it was working again in a few minutes. I've been with EL for only a few years but am becoming quickly disenchanted. I use dialup and too often get a slower than 53K connection. That, combined with the groups fiasco has me considering a change. Any recommendations? The only other ISP I've used was AOL which became a total disaster, IMO, back when I switched. BTW, they continue to owe me a couple of bucks in refund $. Not enough for me to make a major issue of it but it certainly reflects the corporate ethics at AOL. Personally, I'd think hard about Time Warner Road Runner. I think both of you are close enough to Pasadena to make it work. Don't expect any ISP to give decent USENET service. Check out usenet-access.com or some other news service for reliable service.. Gene, Comcast gave up handling UseNet and contracted their UseNet access out to giganews. Their service is FANTASTIC and you get 2 GB of downloads per month for free. If you need more you can pay for the service from giganews. As you can tell, I am very very pleased with Comcast as a ISP and Cable provider. -- Reggie That's my story and I am sticking to it. |
