know that the bad blood, the naming and flaming, and other antisocial
behaviors quickly infect the on-topic threads as people stalk one
another through the NG to continue personal grudge matches.
The political crap winds up ruining the boating threads as well. Cancer
spreads.

I've said my piece. Now its free range for the guys who only hang
around here hoping for a political war to break out. And whoopie zip:
the old feuds can be renewed, the name calling can begin, the cut 'n
pasting of rival surveys will commence, the parroting of Limbaugh, Pat
Robertson, (or a liberal equivalent) can get into full swing, and folks
will act out in this forum in a fashion that most (we can only hope)
would *never* consider in person.

Why the heck do you suppose this forum is called rec.boats? Should that
mean anything at all? Is it an unreasonable expectation that a boat
created to discuss boating should not be overrun with political
arguments and personal ****ing matches?

Those without the brains to find a political group for their political
nonsense (or else the courtesy to go there when appropriate) deserve no
coddling.

As far as "Do as I say, not as I do"...I'll make you or anyone else the
same offer I extended to another poster recently. Go ahead and start
*twice* as many OT political threads as I do, and I promise not to
comment until you exceed your quota. :-)

So here y'all go: "HIllary Clinton" is about as good a trigger phrase
as there is these days.
