I drink too much of the stuff actually. It's not uncommon to down a 12 pack of RC or Pepsi in a morning. Or 4 cans of 7up at supper. So... Knowing that all the sugar and carbonation isn't really that healthy in the long term, I'm turning to just lain water to natural fruit juices. Do I feel better? Not really But I'm sure it's making a healthier difference. Tim Tim wrote: John Gaquin wrote: "Tim" wrote in message . I'm not a beer drinker, and really never have been. . I like beer a lot, but after all these years I discovered that I am allergic to it. It makes my belly swell. RCE I found several years ago, 19, that I was allergic to alcohol in *any* form. It would give me headaches, slurring speech, upset stomach, loss of balance and coordination, etc. Bad stuff! -- 'Til next time, John H ****************************************** ***** Have a Spectacular Day! ***** ****************************************** |

I was one of the first people to get on Andy's Passport Program. Unfortunately, I had to cut back on alcohol due to a conflict with a med I am taking. I now share one beer with my wife and that is my limit. Enough just to wet the whistle. Is that the proverbial "one beer" which is really a six pack! |

I saw the reports on high levels of benzene. But it's interesting that
the "high" levels are what? 72 parts per billion??? Seeing that Benzene and gasoline are very closly related, you probably absorb more bad stuff when you are self-serve filling your car and get a whiff of the fuel fumes. PLUS Working int he automotive industry, I probably get more than that just touching grease and smelling cleaning solvent. If it's there...it's there, and you may know it or not. The Ascorbic acid has never given me a gut problem (that I know of) but , maybe I'm used to it.... basskisser wrote: Tim wrote: John Gaquin wrote: "Tim" wrote in message . We beer drinkers prefer the juice of rotting grain, while wine drinkers [who often somehow fancy themselves superior] merely shift their preference to the rotting juice of fruit. You, on the other hand, prefer a chemically altered concoction, so you shift the rotting process to your own insides during the post-drink phase. :-) |

"Reginald P. Smithers" wrote in message ups.com... Do you ever go by Summits Wayside Taverns? It is the best place for good quality draft beer. http://www.classiccitybrew.com/summits05.html Beer aficionados appreciate the food but come to Summits for the amazing selection of malt beverages. On a typical day you'll likely find a staggering array of draft beers - 114 at Sandy Springs, 166 at Snellville, and 224 at Cumming. Andy insists that his draft beers are better maintained than most because of his use of nitrogen gas mixed with the standard carbon dioxide. "Nitrogen is more expensive than CO2 but it does a much better job at preserving kegged beer," he says You don't need the better perserving if you go through the keg fast enough :-) |

But for the most part, I think beer smells like what it is. rotten grain. Buy something beside "Bud" ;-) now, I'm sure that there's many people that post and lurk on this board that do like the suds, And if you like the suds, I'm not preaching against your favorite thurst quencher. I DID a bit of snooping around though, and found this thread hillarious. http://forums.egullet.org/index.php?...c=12052&st=270 I thought some of you could appreciate it and it might revive some of your own thoughts of personal taste's and experiences as well. Enjoy! |

I wish, at one time, a 6 pack would just give me a buzz, now it would
knock me on my ass. |

When you have 200 bears on tap, you need the perserving.
