Default Nuclear Powerplant Ready to Implode! (Boaters warned to stay away)

SAFETY ZONE PLANNED FOR TROJAN POWER PLANT IMPLOSION SUNDAY
PORTLAND, Ore- A temporary safe zone on the Columbia River in vicinity
near the Trojan Power plant will be in effective on Sunday 6 a.m.
through 8 a.m. The closure will be from river mile 70 through 75. The
closure will be roughly from Cottonwooden Island to Sandy Island. The
cooling tower will be imploded at 7 a.m.

The Captain of the Port, Portland, Oregon is enforcing the safety zones
to protect individuals and vessels from hazards that may occur from the
implosion of the cooling tower.

Coast Guard sector Portland is the led federal agency responsible for
safety and security of the river. In addition, a coordinated event
patrol with eight Oregon and Washington state agencies as well as
local Coast Guard and auxiliary patrol.

Entry into the prohibited area will be denied unless authorized by the
captain of the port. Violation of the safety boundaries could result in
arrest and fines up to $32,500.

Flyers were distributed began Thursday and posted at boat ramps as well
as given to boaters in the surrounding area by US CG and marine patrol
offices from Cowlitz and Columbia.
